Elizabeth Shuler Pointer
Born a ministers daughter on the east coast in 1953, Elizabeth is of Cherokee and German descent. With paints, tools of the trade and belief in her talent her grandparents encouraged her love of painting at an early age.
As a teenager she studied in Washington, D.C. The many visits to the Smithsonian museum fostered an interest in history, especially of ruins. Elizabeth continued to visit historical sites during her travels as she raised her family.
Upon arriving in Arizona, Elizabeth was overwhelmed by the magnificence around her. Finding an inner constitution with the southwest has influenced all aspects of her life. The desire to share this with others has created the painting technique she uses today.
