Artist Statement: I have been a woodworker for around 40 years, and turning for over 25. I've lived up and down the west coast and in Hawaii for the past 20 years sharing tips and techniques with other wood turners. I've taught many people wood turning from private classes to technical students while in the Peace Corps.
What appeals to me about turning is that it's a true free hand form of wood working. When I start a piece I know what object I want however the grain, texture and color tones of the wood contribute greatly to the finished form. To conclude each piece is original and unique to itself.
